Sadly, unintentional injuries remain the leading cause of death for children ages 1 to 14 in our community.  Safe Kids Charlotte Mecklenburg is a coalition of government, health, and safety agencies; educators; corporations; and individuals who are interested in preventing childhood injury and death in Mecklenburg County.  Our coalition provides leadership to Mecklenburg County in an effort to reduce unintentional childhood injury. We identify and target the injury problems most prevalent in our community. Then, by calling on the combined resources of our diverse membership, we plan and implement strategies to address those problems.  Our primary focus is to educate children, parents, caregivers, and the public; advocate for child safety; and conduct injury prevention programs in Mecklenburg County.  One of 450 worldwide coalitions dedicated to unintentional injury, Safe Kids Charlotte Mecklenburg is a proud member of Safe Kids Worldwide.
